Beautiful Bali: Lovely Village, Yoga, Local Food & Tanah Lot Temple

December 26, 2017

I am so excited to write about this wonderful place – BaliTrees Resort. It is a hidden gem in the village of Megati, Sedandan, Tabanan Regency, Bali.

I woke up at 7am to find the most perfect scenery in front of my eyes – Rice Fields and Coconut Trees <3

Beautiful Views of the Rice Fields

Morning Yoga session with Ms. Krishna started with some Yoga Philosophy followed by some meditation and Asanas (yoga poses). 5 lovely yogis joined me for our practice. Our Session started at 9:30 am and last for two hours. Ms. Krishna is incredible and I loved her teaching style. She is so friendly and highly helpful in giving you that extra push to perfect your pose.

Our midday activity was learning to cook some Balinese Food. Devi, Yulia and Rhiana are our amazing chefs at the BaliTrees Retreat. We learnt to make some green beans with eggs and some fried corn with flour – typical Balinese village dishes. No meal is complete in Bali without the amazing fruits!

Traditional Balinese Lunch

Post Lunch, we had our afternoon yoga session for two hours. We then sipped some green tea after the class and prepared for our evening tour to Tanah Lot. Tanah Lot is a rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali. It is home to the ancient Hindu pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot, a popular tourist and a cultural icon. Sunset at Tanah Lot is the most breathtaking view I have ever seen.
